Antenatal Sessions

Preparing for birth is about far more than learning what happens during labour. It is about building confidence, understanding your options, and feeling empowered to navigate whatever path your baby's birth takes. Whether you are planning a home birth, birth centre birth, hospital birth, induction, or caesarean birth, knowledge is one of the most valuable tools you can bring into your birth experience.

My personalised antenatal sessions are designed to help you and your birth partner understand not only the practical aspects of labour and birth, but also the physiology behind the process. By understanding how your body works during labour, what choices may arise, and how to make informed decisions, you can approach birth feeling calm, prepared, and confident.

Rather than focusing on one "ideal" way to give birth, these sessions provide balanced, evidence-based information that equips you to adapt if plans change. Birth is often unpredictable, but when you understand your options and know how to advocate for yourself, you are more likely to feel positive, empowered, and in control of your experience.

Across two in-depth sessions, we explore everything from the hormones of labour and signs that birth is beginning, through to pain management, induction, assisted birth, caesarean birth, newborn feeding, and decision-making tools that help you confidently navigate the maternity system. You'll also gain practical skills, including breathing techniques, massage, birth planning, and preparation for the early days with your baby.

These sessions are suitable for first-time parents and those welcoming another baby, helping you and your partner feel informed, connected, and ready to meet your baby with confidence, regardless of how your birth unfolds.
