birth doula
Birth is one of the most significant experiences of your life. Whether you're preparing for your first baby or growing your family, having continuous support from someone you know, and trust can make a real difference to how you feel during pregnancy, labour and the early days with your baby.
As your birth doula, my role is not to replace your midwife or medical team, nor to tell you how you should birth. Instead, I provide emotional, practical and informational support, helping you feel informed, prepared and confident in the choices that are right for you and your family.
I support all birth choices, including home births, hospital births, birth centre births, induced births, caesarean births and VBACs. Whatever path your birth takes, my aim is to help you feel heard, respected and supported throughout the journey.
What Does a Birth Doula Do?
A birth doula provides continuous support throughout pregnancy, labour and birth, recognising that birth is not only a physical event but an emotional and deeply personal experience.
During pregnancy, I help you explore your options, prepare for birth, understand the evidence behind the choices available to you and build confidence in your own instincts and decision-making.
During labour and birth, I remain by your side, offering reassurance, encouragement, practical comfort measures and a calm, familiar presence. I support both you and your birth partner, helping everyone feel informed, involved and confident.
My role is to help create space for you to have the most positive and supported birth experience possible, regardless of how your labour unfolds.

Complimentary Discovery Call
Our journey begins with a free, no-obligation discovery call. This gives us an opportunity to get to know one another, discuss your pregnancy, hopes and concerns, and explore whether I am the right fit for your family. Choosing a doula is a personal decision and it's important that you feel comfortable and supported from the very beginning.
Getting to Know You Session
Once booked, we'll arrange a relaxed session where we can get to know each other beyond pregnancy and birth planning. This is a chance to chat, discuss any immediate questions you may have and start building the trusting relationship that is such an important part of doula support. We'll also schedule your antenatal sessions and talk through how we'll work together throughout your pregnancy.
Two Personalised Antenatal Sessions
These sessions are tailored specifically to you and your family. Sessions typically last around two to three hours each, and are designed to give us the time and space to explore the topics most relevant to you. These sessions are evidence-based, personalised and designed to help you feel informed, prepared and confident as you approach birth.

Ongoing Pregnancy Support
From the moment you book, you'll have access to ongoing support via WhatsApp, phone and email. Questions often arise between appointments, after midwife visits or during those late-night moments when Google isn't particularly reassuring. Knowing you have someone to turn to can make a huge difference! I'm available throughout your pregnancy to offer reassurance, signposting, evidence-based information and a listening ear whenever needed.
On-Call Support for Your Birth
From 38 weeks until your baby arrives, I will be on call for you 24 hours a day. During this time, I'll keep my diary clear and my phone close by, ready to join you when labour begins. f baby decides to arrive earlier than expected, I will always do my very best to be with you.
Continuous Labour and Birth Support
Once labour begins, I will join you wherever you have chosen to give birth and remain with you throughout your labour and birth.
My support may include:
Emotional reassurance and encouragement
Breathing and relaxation guidance
Positioning and movement suggestions
Massage and comfort techniques
Helping create a calm birth environment
Supporting your birth partner
Providing balanced information and helping you explore your options
Facilitating communication with your maternity team
I remain with you until you are settled comfortably with your new baby and feel ready for some quiet family time.
Early Feeding and Birth Debrief Support
After birth, I can offer gentle support as you begin feeding your baby, helping you feel comfortable and confident as you navigate those first hours together. Whether you choose to breastfeed, express or formula feed, my role is to support your choices and help you access additional specialist support if needed.
Postnatal Visit
Following your baby's arrival, I will visit you at home for a dedicated postnatal session. This is an opportunity to reflect on your birth experience, celebrate your achievements, ask questions and discuss any challenges you may be facing. Many families find it helpful to talk through their birth story and process everything that has happened during those early days.
Six Weeks of Continued Support
For the first six weeks following your baby's birth, you'll continue to have access to telephone, email and WhatsApp support. Whether you have questions about feeding, recovery, newborn behaviour or simply need reassurance, I'm here to support you as you settle into life with your baby.
